Information we collect
We collect names, contact details, nationality, driving licence details, booking and payment records, and communications. The standard rental booking form does not accept driving licence image uploads. The separate JAF licence translation application collects licence images, date of birth and delivery details. We also handle vehicle GPS locations and website usage data.
How we use information
We use information to manage bookings, verify driving eligibility, provide rentals and requested translation services, process payments and refunds, respond to inquiries, manage vehicles and accidents, prevent fraud, meet legal requirements, and understand website use and advertising performance. For JAF translation applications, AI services assess the legibility of uploaded licence images.
Service providers and disclosure
We use Stripe for payments and service providers for hosting, storage, communications, analytics and AI processing. Information needed for a requested translation or delivery may be shared with JAF and delivery providers. Other disclosures, including to insurers or public authorities, follow applicable legal requirements and consent requirements.
Processing outside Japan

Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use cookies and browser storage for language preferences, booking continuity, analytics and advertising measurement. Depending on configuration, these include PostHog analytics and masked session replay, Google Tag Manager and advertising tags, OpenAI advertising measurement, Sentry error monitoring and Vercel performance monitoring.
