What to Bring
Please bring the following items when picking up your rental car.
Passport (Non-Japanese Nationals)
If your passport country is outside Japan, bring your valid original passport for identity verification.
Driver's License
You must bring one of the following. Please make sure every required document is valid and has not expired.
- International Driving Permit (Geneva 1949) paper booklet — Together with the original driver's license from the issuing country
- Driver's license from an eligible country or region — A license from Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Monaco, or Taiwan, together with an official Japanese translation
- Valid Japanese driver's license issued in Japan
- Valid U.S. Forces, Japan (USFJ) Form 4EJ operator's permit (SOFA permit) — Issued to an eligible SOFA-status driver
The driver must present the complete set of original documents that applies to their license category at pickup.
Important: You must bring the original IDP (Geneva 1949) paper booklet. Copies and photos are not accepted. If the required original documents are not available on pickup day, the reservation cannot be fulfilled and cancellation fees will apply. Drivers with a license issued in Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Monaco, or Taiwan must bring the original driver's license and the original official Japanese translation. We can provide preliminary advice about driver's license validity, but the final decision can only be made after inspecting the original document. Even if a preliminary check finds no issue, the reservation will be cancelled if the original document does not meet the requirements. Cancellation caused by a driver's license issue—including an invalid or expired license, a copy or photo, or a missing original—is the customer's responsibility, and cancellation fees will be charged.
Credit or Debit Card
A credit or debit card is required for the security deposit (standard hold: JPY 60,000). If you selected Damage & NOC Zero, a reduced deposit applies (typically JPY 15,000). Check your booking details for the final amount. The refund is processed 3–10 days after the vehicle is returned due to payment-system processing.
Important: The card must be in the driver's name.
Note: Canadian Interac debit cards are not supported for this deposit payment. Please use a credit card or a non-Interac debit card.
Booking Confirmation
Have your booking confirmation email or reservation number ready. You may show it on your phone or bring a printed copy.
